Our two year Arabic course is designed to comprehensively guide students from the basics to advanced proficiency in both Modern Standard Arabic and Classical Arabic. This immersive program emphasizes reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, ensuring a balanced approach to language learning. Throughout the course, students will explore the intricacies of Arabic grammar and enrich their vocabulary.

Course Outline

Prerequisites

  • An ability to read—not understand—and pronounce Arabic letters with diacritical marks (eg. dammah, fatha, kasrah).

  • An absolute commitment to the intensive once registered and to self-study at least one additional hour every day beside the classes.

Course features

  • All classes will be live-streamed and professionally recorded with a top-end podcast mic.​

  • All recordings will be uploaded to YouTube Unlisted and organized by class into playlists for easy student access.

  • Weekly assignments and monthly exams will be graded in detail on Google Classroom.

  • There will be three 60-minute classes a week.

  • Group projects to apply theoretical knowledge.

  • The course may be joined live or through its recordings (provided that you inform us before/upon registering).

Year 1: Foundations of Quranic Arabic

    • Week 11-12: Building vocabulary through key Quranic terms and phrases

    • Week 13-14: Review and midterm exam focused on Quranic texts

Semester 2: Intermediate Quranic Grammar

  • ARB103: Intermediate Quranic Syntax and Morphology

    • Week 15-16: In-depth study of irregular verbs and complex Quranic sentences

    • Week 17-18: Morphology (Sarf) focused on Quranic word forms

  • ARB104: Prepositions and Particles in the Quran

    • Week 19-20: Detailed study of prepositions, particles, and their impact on meaning

    • Week 21-22: Quranic expressions and idioms

    • Week 23-24: Listening and recitation skills to improve pronunciation and comprehension

    • Week 25-26: Review and end of year exam with Quranic focus
